Proud Poppas Photo Project

Greetings All, Peace! We want to thank everyone who come out Friday night to the Proud Poppas Exhibition Opening Reception. It was a Powerful evening. Special thanks to the Babas' (Elders) who blessed the evening with their illuminating wisdom and knowledge. Special Thank to the Harlem Arts Alliance for displaying the pieces. Zire Photography & Graphics and Proud Poppas United is pleased to announce our photo exhibit featuring a photo collection entitled "Proud Poppas." This FREE public exhibition consists of images celebrating and encouraging the pride of being an active father. In the urban and minority communities, there is a progressive concern of absentee fathers and the devastating effects of this challenge on our children, our families and community.

This display of these images will not only celebrate fatherhood and its importance, but will promote a tradition of proud and responsible fatherhood. It is our hope to instill a permanent presence of existing example within the well-being and development of our children, our families and our people as a whole.

We are also currently developing a video presentation to compliment the photo project and the endeavors of Proud Poppas United. The presentation will have interviews, poetry, imagery and more.

This Photo Exhibition will be open to the public from June to September at the HARLEM ARTS ALLIANCE, 229 West 135th Street, New York, NY 10030
